The anniversary of 19th century German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer's death is coming up on September 21.
Here is something he left us: his essay on women.

I think the most important excerpt is the final sentence:
That woman is by nature intended to obey is shown by the fact that every woman who is placed in the unnatural position of absolute independence at once attaches herself to some kind of man, by whom she is controlled and governed; this is because she requires a master. If she, is young, the man is a lover; if she is old, a priest.

Men of ancient times were very much aware of the hypergamous and dependent nature of the female sex. Ancient philosophical works and literature were very red pill, and ill be so bold as to say that TRP is derived from ancient literature and philosophies in more ways than a few.
The educated and literate upper class were more aware of TRP, being tutored by, educated, capable and strong male mentors from early ages.
The lower working and soldier classes were not educated or literate, and neither were their male mentors. So they passed TRP lessons on through song and story.
The greatest literature is always old literature neglected and ridiculed as preposterous in its time of publishing. Arthurs work is no exception.

I think Schopenhauer was pretty much spot on, but there are a ton of resources that are far more broad and also better than his brief exposition on women.

I think what happened is that as society evolved it outpaced our biology by much. Unfortunately, biological evolution is very slow and our society is moving forward way faster for it to catch up, think about all the technological advances we are making and how our bodies are coping with them (sitting on a desk in front of a PC all day, anyone?)
I think that the idea of women being equal to men and independent is an idealistic idea and dream that just can't happen because it would need for us as humans to actually change genetically (evolve) and that's obviously not going to happen any time soon unless we start intervening in our own biology using biological engineering, by being part manmade (cyborg) or something along those lines of manual change.
Of course, you have the argument that part of being human is being very good at adapting and that our brains are influenced more by how we are brought up than by inheritance (nurture vs. nature). I personally think that we are not that adaptable and that we are more influenced by nature than by nurture, especially when you think about the majority of people and not the lucky few who were born with smarter brains more capable of adapting to change (think the ability to learn and adapt is pretty much what intelligence is, isn't it?)

I think that what you're saying was particularly true of the Greeks and Romans. However, as a gay heretic in this sub, I am obliged to point out what the Christianization (and therefore the Puritanization) of our culture forces us to sweep under the rug. That is that, in those ancient cultures, women were not granted a monopoly on the male orgasm, and a significant percentage of male orgasms were obtained with other men. This Puritan-enabled female monopolization of male orgasms is closely related to the pedestalization of females and the romantic myth. One of the most effective ways of bringing down the price of pussy is to break the pussy monopoly. I'm gay. I've had pussy. It's good stuff and is an important part of a balanced sexual diet. But I won't pay the absurd price that it commands in our Puritan, pussy-monopoly culture.

Personally I think this is why religion exists. It keeps female hypergamy from destroying society. Thus religious cultures were more prosperous. Great nations in their conquering/growth stage were always deeply religious. It can not be a coincidence.

Not only that, the most successful religions also found ways to reign in the culturally damaging male traits as well (do not covet your neighbor's property, do not murder, etc.). All of them are to some degree about keeping egos in check for the greater good. With the rise of the unchecked ego and the demise of the sense of God--universal oneness--we have what we have now.

Sometimes I think and wonder if Islam/Christianity/Whatever had a good point when it enforced covering women's bodies and restricting them to mainly house and family work.
I wonder how it would be like to live in a society that has these laws but at the same time isn't generally a shithole like most Muslim or religious countries. What would happen if a society followed some parts of religion but at the same time remained very open to science and encouraged it. It would be an interesting place to live in, maybe we could be all happier, who knows.

I don't think they enforce any of these laws. From what I hear, it's pretty much like a European city.

Do your research before you visit. You might be unpleasantly surprised. Examples:
1) 0.0000 BAC tolerance. You had a drink last night? (Fully legal activity with permission of your employer.). Don't drive. Hung over? Stay the hell away from the driver's seat. Doesn't matter as taxis are cheap, plentiful, and fast, as are private car/driver hires.
2) Drugs? Assume the worst, you may only be half right - so just don't.
3) Women? Keep your hands off the locals, don't blatantly piss in the pool, and keep smiling. Did you know they actually had to limit the number of "young models" coming into Dubai from the former Soviets? They were depressing the local market.
God, I miss Dubai. It may be as close to RP heaven as I have found in the 1st world (economically speaking).

Why is it so easy for a white guy to get women there? Or is it for any race?

Reference Pitbull, "International Love" @ 1:35, comment about girls in the Dominican Republic - same reason.

I think the biggest and most retarded thing i have heard in this sub is "LOL this dude was so redpill waaaay back in the day!". Knowledge we have uncovered in TheRedPill is not new at all, we are just rediscovering something that has been hidden from the beta males for decades if not centuries.

Millennia. "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." - Genesis 3:16

Basically he was saying: Don't let them vote.

"One need only look at a woman’s shape to discover that she is not intended for either too much mental or too much physical work."
"With girls, Nature has had in view what is called in a dramatic sense a “striking effect,” for she endows them for a few years with a richness of beauty and a, fulness of charm at the expense of the rest of their lives; so that they may during these years ensnare the fantasy of a man to such a degree as to make him rush into taking the honourable care of them, in some kind of form, for a lifetime"

Love the fuck out of Schopenhauer. Some of his writings will go completely over your head if you're not dedicated to understanding them though.
[deleted] 10y ago
Largely true, but never underestimate the ability of a renowned philosopher to make absolutely no sense at all.
IllimitableMan 10y ago
Can't disagree with that LJ8.

Isn't that what "A little wisdom is a dangerous thing" means? Because if you do not become the all-knowing wise one, then you're merely destroying your own 'common sense' with every nugget of wisdom. You need all of the pieces of the puzzle to get the picture, don't you?

All learning involves knowledge destruction and recreation. To transfer a whole picture is impossible as two different people can never see it from the same perspective.

And so much knowledge is contradictory if one does not know how to apply it situationally.
