It's been over a month since the initial quarantine, and we still have not gotten a clear answer from the administration about what the offending content was, nor have we gotten a straight answer (or any answer for that matter) on what they recommend that we change.
/u/Spez directed us to a male abuse denier, Michael Kimmel, as an example of positive masculinity, and quickly took that recommendation down after Michael Kimmel was forced to step down due to sexual assault allegations, quickly proving that /u/spez and the administration are absolutely clueless when it comes to "positive masculinity".
To this, we have received absolutely zero apology for the sheer and unbridled misandry that the administration demonstrated. I have decided that it was time to stop waiting for the administration to do the right thing and apologize, so I have contacted them on our behalf:
When you quarantined /r/theredpill you posted a message on our landing page:
"For information on positive masculinity, please see the resources available at Stony Brook University's Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities."
And you linked to them. Their executive director was Michael Kimmel, who was on record on many occasions denying male victims of domestic violence and then accused of sexual assault and forced to step down from his position.
This was your example of positive masculinity that you sent to 300,000 of our subscribers. After these events came to light, your team silently removed the message but not until after damage was done.
I had abuse victims contact me and our mod team, confused and upset because of what happened. They did not like the idea of reliving their worst nightmare- that nobody would believe they were victims. Here they had found friends and people they could talk to about their experiences, and one day they were simply sent the message by your administration team that male victims of abuse simply do not matter and that real positive masculinity means denying that it happened.
I understand you guys don't like us. But for the sake of humanity and all that is good, will you please issue an apology to our members who were very much shaken by this experience?
I think we can both agree Michael Kimmel is not a role model for men. It was a mistake to suggest he was. Please do the right thing and issue an apology to our members.
To our latest reply to the admin regarding our appeal, we have heard absolutely nothing from the administration. This should be very worrying to anybody considering reddit in a potential upcoming IPO. Their community management staff is woefully unprepared to actually manage the community. They are unable to simply communicate with their community leaders to give direction and support. In a way, you could say that the entirety of TRP's current existence could be attributed to them for simply not reaching out and giving guidance and support during the growth of this community.
Imagine, the thing they hate the most exists because they were unable or unwilling to simply reach out to us and give us some direction.
I have once again send the admin a message asking for clarification and asking if we should continue awaiting their reply. If they refuse to do so, it will be very telling. It will mean that they do not know why they have attempted to silence us, and they have no actual answers to give us.
They could just ban the community, but our mod team fervently enforces Reddit's rules. If they do this, they send a message to every other community on reddit: We don't play by the rules we have set. It's entirely subjective. Expect your community to be banned if it's inconvenient for us in any way. The rules don't matter.
Personally, I don't think many communities like it when the administration acts in such a capricious manner as that. Without rigid rules and guidelines that the administration adheres to, confidence in the system breaks down. When the users get pushed around too much, they leave. It happens with every major social network platform. And it can happen here.
They need strong leadership, now. What they have, unfortunately, is a namby pamby community manager who won't commit to anything in writing and doesn't know how to lead communities. This will be reddit's downfall. Every time they make an announcement, the backlash and resentment grows larger. It will hit a critical mass and be impossible to contain.
For the sake of their own site, they should stop destroying the only thing that makes Reddit great: its community.
For those following the appeal:
- September 27th - The Reddit Admin Quarantine TRP
- September 29th - The Reddit Administration Tacitly Endorses Male Abuse and Denies its Victims
- October 1st - Admin Recant Quarantine Message
- October 4th - Initial Appeal
- October 11th - Appeal Status
- October 15th - Admin Reply #1
We continue to work diligently on our Forums.Red reboot, with a fresh new look and new controls for moderators of their own communities to manage subforums. Announcements will be made soon.

I just thought to myself. Hmm that's weird, I haven't seen a single TRP post on my home page for ages. Then I thought that I might have unsubbed by mistake. Checked my subscription - TRP nowhere to be found. Search on google to get the direct link and then I was prompted with quarantine warning and I was like WTF.
I have fought redditors for years on reddits censorship but to quarantine a self help community for men, which is heavily regulated by mods to make sure that no one breaks reddit rules is fucking unbelievable.
I honestly don't know how to react. I'm dumbfound.

We have always been at war with
EastWest Asia.shocking or highly offensive content..Edit: woops, uhh, admin: I see the problem here, "offensiveness" is in the eye of the beholder, I hope this has been pointed out before.. but the quarantine reason is one that is subjective, inherently not quantifiable.
In short; any opinion that received widespread (justified or not) criticism is one that will be subject to 'people being offended'. Given this is the reason that Reddit stated here, one can easily surmise that the primary problem for Reddit is controversial content.
Anything that is involved in heated political debate these days becomes 'radioactive' to any medium that relies on advertisement revenue.

TRP should sue reddit all the way to the fucking supreme court. With Kavanaugh there, we will probably get the reddit admins smacked down in court and forced to take the sub out of quarantine. Whether it's TRP, or Gab, or Alex Jones, this kind of case needs to happen to stop the rampant Orwellian censorship that the left has unfortunately embraced over the past few years due to the radical feminazis pushing this by framing it as "hate speech" which is just vague term that in reality means anything feminists don't like.

triplewitching2 6y ago
Are we really going to play the victim card on their insulting quarantine post ? No one here was traumatized by the reddit team being pure @sshats, we deal with this crap every day in real life. The suggestion was not serious in the first place. No one cares about their stupid politically correct idea of what being a man is, we have probably thought about that issue like 10x what they have. We are just frustrated in dealing with their 'talk to the hand' way of dealing with this sub. We are in the 'not politically correct' ghetto, and they really don't care what messages we send them, it seems likely we are never getting back to main reddit, any more than eBay adult content is ever coming back to main eBay from its ghetto. Its just their world, and we can only live in it on their terms. Digital freedom isn't free, and its likely the internet itself will have to have many message boards that have no crosstalk, because we can't all get along, politically or socially. The Powers That Be of reddit just can't handle certain speech, and maybe that speech needs a home of its own on the internet. Perhaps another parody site, like incel or blue pill, which exists solely to troll the main site. How about 'Bedwettit : The site where everything that makes reddit admins wet the bed goes ?' Also offering that suggestion for free if anyone wants to run with it. Might as well gather together all the banned and quarantined sites, so we can have some strength in numbers, since reddit's stance is pretty clearly 'divide and conquer' on dealing with anything that does not fit the Mainstream Matrix of society.
slam9 6y ago
I wouldn't be surprised if a few people were hurt by the message that male victims don't matter, but they will walk it off. There is a difference between not being hurt, and tolerating hurt.
triplewitching2 6y ago
I would say offended, rather than traumatized or hurt, because it WAS offensive. Can you imagine the rage if they posted on a feminist reddit default advice on how to be more feminine and ladylike ? They wouldn't dare, but they will smack us in the face with their dick like it ain't no thing...

Nergaal 6y ago
They are managing their own short-term self-interest. Major news sources, including ultra-blue pill ones like Vox, sources that are considered "trustworthy" by the main population, rate TRP as one of the toxic corners of Reddit (along with Men's Rights sub). They only care to not be associated with negative publicity.
Patric_MasterBateman 6y ago

Can we stop pretending we don't know why this sub got quarantined ?
It did because it goes against social conditioning for man, not just when it comes to woman, but it all areas of life. Which wouldn't really turn any heads if it didn't work, but it does. TRP teachings have been tested out in real life and have been proven to be true. The powers responsible for the blue pill conditioning realized that as well and took action to prevent it from reaching more man.
Contrary to what some here might think, this move is logical, not emotion based, they use emotions as a smoke screen, saying TRP is offensive and shocking because is what works in todays society. No need for counter arguments.
And this is why the appeal was never going to work, the only thing that would cause them to lift it would be this sub abandoning the TRP mindset and complying with the blue pill conditioning that's socially acceptable.
PS. There is more than 300 k people in here, I've been her for couple of years now but never pressed that subscribe button I guess I'm not the only one.
[deleted] 6y ago
I'm not into PUA, but old guard MGTOW from YouTube. In the past I've been shadowbanned from askmen and probably askwomen, banned from multiple subreddits, silenced by downvotes and moderators deleting my posts in multiple subreddits to the extreme for expressing an opinion that didn't threaten anyone but was essentially disagreeable-- including being censored by red pill related subreddits for not following little rules, where none of this censorship would exist on YouTube, my personal Facebook feed, or Google Plus (although Google Plus will be gone by next year), so I'm pretty annoyed with how Reddit operates and I only use throwaway accounts on this website to maximize my freedom of speech.
Meditation and mental health subreddits are about the only places I trust because I have tended to go there to help people in the past, and I have not yet been silenced for my opinion in those places, whereas most of the website it seems like I am either censored via downvotes or censorship if I am there long enough. Its like these people think they have the right to censor me because I'm putting on an anyonymous persona. They don't realize I shove a lot of my opinions at friends, family, and coworkers through Facebook, and make coworkers uncomfortable with my excess desperation and stress which is poorly masked by wit as a result of mostly coping entirely alone with the negative events of my past, so its very frustrating to be silenced by people who don't think I would quietly plot instances of speech to make them uncomfortable in real life as a function of survival against the darkness of my being.
Though if anyone is reading this from the meditation subreddits I have posted in please change the last word in the last paragraph with "conceptual identity" for clarification.

For those not in the know:
We are not, of course, really desirous of "guidance", or "leadership", or "direction" from reddit's "community" team. Such a thing would be absurd, since they have zero knowledge of masculinity, leadership, or indeed anything we are trying to accomplish here.
But they have claimed a mantle of leadership, and so we are using their own language and communication paradigms to reveal their utter hypocrisy and/or institutional incompetence.
Reddit, like most online social media platforms, was created by those whose only qualifications were technical and technological, and thus they fail when and where they are called on to anticipate, or deal with, the social and psychological ramifications of their actions, positions, and attitudes. Not only are they unable to deal with social problems, they are unable to understand that social problems are every bit as real and demanding as technical ones.
Thus they do not devote serious time, thought, effort, and expertise to the cultivation of a social community environment.
The TRP leadership team, by contrast, specializes in analyzing and managing social matters, which is how we have built a thriving culture, beneficial to its members, on a hostile raft in the midst of a sea of hostility.
The important lesson here is that social skills, and social problems, are every bit as important as technical ones. Digg, MySpace, Google Plus, and other failed platforms were not brought down by technical failures.
Social entities are destroyed when their members cannot effectively communicate with each other internally to settle differences, and to establish and work towards common goals. This lessons can be applied to many phenomena in today's world.
five_cacti 6y ago
The root cause of this problem is that advertisers are not willing to put their advertisements on content that is widely considered controversial (even if it really isn't) and it often leads to situation in which they abandon campaigns on whole platforms to protect their brands from outrage and backlash. This of course is an existential threat to social media platforms like YouTube, Twitter or Reddit which in fact, much like TV, get their entire revenue from ad publishing.
This is how political correctness is dismantling free expression. It doesn't matter whether admins support free speech or not - Reddit is a business. What they want is to be attractive enough to big mainstream advertisers, so they're banning and blacklisting all content that would be worth raising a brow in your regular NPC normie and, in extension, a brand campaign manager.
We already know that approx. 70% of consumer decisions are made by women so we can assume that all advertising caters to mostly women. Connect the dots. Reddit doesn't want TRP near any of their precious advertisers. Period.
Now, there are several solutions to this problem on multiple fronts. In no particular order:
[deleted]
ghosts_of_me 6y ago
What about simply not puttung ads on quarantines subreddits? That seems so fucking easy.
SirKolbath 6y ago
What? Why would Reddit host subreddits for free? Reddit is a business and ads are revenue. Your eyes are the product. Not putting ads on subreddits that are quarantined would effectively result in those subreddits getting their operating space for free.
ghosts_of_me 6y ago
Ok then just replace the ad space with the words "You're worthless"
SirKolbath 6y ago
I’m not certain that you understand how advertising works in an online platform.
strayaura 6y ago
There is no hope.
Recently I was banned from a subreddit for explaining to a poster that if you defaultbon student loans the gov will take your taxes and suspend any professional licences.
A day later I was banned because what I said was too 'general' and would not happen to everyone.
Two days later same OP posted that his wife defaulted and they took her nursing license. Ignorance prevails.
gELSK 6y ago

I've had enough of this sheeple behaviour of mr. CEO of Reddit.
Fuck this place, fuck their higher powers, fuck the managers.

Just focus more on getting our shit together on the alt TRP sites.

Except for this part, which I think should be plastered across the interwebs on every fucking social website:

> I have once again send the admin a message asking for clarification and asking if we should continue awaiting their reply. If they refuse to do so, it will be very telling. It will mean that they do not know why they have attempted to silence us, and they have no actual answers to give us.
> They could just ban the community, but our mod team fervently enforces Reddit's rules. Expect your community to be banned if it's inconvenient for us in any way. The rules don't matter.

To show how much an ignorant bunch of biased people these guys are, and that we're right in our stand, so that our truth doesn't go up as smoke in the air for no one to see.

And after that, I say to hell with our oneitis of Reddit - as TRP's guidance tells us, FUCKING NEXT 'EM.

These bitches have done enough damage to us. No need to entertain their whims and bullshit anymore.
RainySeasonInPH 6y ago
Welp. Let me give you an alternative point of view. TRP exist here, on reddit, because there is virtually noplace that could be a better source for the target audience it is intended to help. To wit, men who haven't got a clue about how to get with women.
Think of TRP as a rescue operation. You wanna offer a lifeline to young beta spergs, you put it where the young beta spergs hang out.
BluepillProfessor 6y ago
Indeed and the desperation to cut off the last line of rescue for so many men. These Reddit Admins are disgusting.
i4mn30 6y ago
Well, in my experience, I've found that lost men willing to find the truth, which will set them free, always have seeked out the truth. Not the other way around.

BluepillProfessor 6y ago
I think you are wrong and this is not about "profits." Reddit is SJW and it is about winning and defeating their opponents.
The TRP Reddit goes great with targeted advertising which is the whole purpose of Reddit. The SJW's don't want to acknowledge or recognize the group of men that make up TRP but it is a very large group. True they don't buy jangles and bangles or makeup or stupid shit.
But many advertisers would be happy to sell their wares on TRP/MRP. If I sold hidden nanny cams or ran a prove your spouse is a cheater business, or camping equipment or men's suits, or (obviously) a self-help thing aimed at men then TRP would be a great place to advertise.
I think this is political 100%. These people are trained in SJW ideology and they are committed to preventing men from forming what Marx called "a class in itself" (who was aware of their cultural identity and their oppression). Can't have that and still populate the slave farms (suburban homes).

Wasn't there a little yellow-box message on the sidebar for a while pointing to a link about the admin's wife? Or was I dreaming?
campfire451 6y ago
This is wishful thinking. TRP is quarantined precisely because it annoys other moderators and communities. They don't care or know how well you follow Reddit's rules, that's invisible to everyone. They're happy we're quarantined and wish we were banned.
But overall this gets to general negotiations. They've made a demand. To get the ball back in their court you need to respond to the demand. These sorts of back-and-forth bullshit negotiations happen in negotiations all the time. Nobody can go to their boss empty-handed. Your response demands they go to their boss empty-handed.
You should try actually giving them something. They're not telling you what the problem is: this means you get to frame it yourself and give them something symbolic. Even if it's something as stupid as adding "misogyny" as a report reason. At least then you can say the moderators will respond to "misogyny" and you get to see what sorts of things are reported as "misogyny".

Compromising with somebody being irrational doesn't help.
SirKolbath 6y ago

karmalizing 6y ago
Very intelligent and actionable suggestion.
jcrpta 6y ago
Except they framed the terms of the negotiations before it even started. And the terms were simple: we've already decided you've sinned, that isn't up for discussion. The only thing up for discussion is how you're going to prevent such sins from recurring.
Without any idea of the sort of "sins" they're talking about, it's very hard to know what aspect of TRP needs to be changed to accommodate it.
HumanSockPuppet 6y ago
You don't negotiate with imbeciles. Then they'll think you take them seriously and believe that their ridiculous demands are reasonable.
"Misogyny" is anything they don't like - that's this entire sub.
We're already exiting reddit. The real purpose here isn't to appeal for continued existence, but to shed light on their childish incompetence for anyone who would consider using or investing in this platform and its managers in the future.
campfire451 6y ago
When the goal is making imbeciles look incompetent, you keep putting the ball in their court so they can continue to fumble and embarrass themselves. Otherwise the optics are that TRP has no play and you're just running out the clock to claim the loss. Running out the clock to claim a loss is fine if that's what you want (I suppose). Trash talking while doing that doesn't really emphasize the opposing team's incompetence.

Ether_Freeth 6y ago
Just a question and maybe a stupid one.
But why do we care?
I get it the quarantine label is annoying, but is it not also free publicity?
Add to that that if you are not in to get your world shaken with something controversial then maybe you have no reason to be here I the first place.
I say let them keep their quarantine label. They can jack of to it at night and pretend they made the world a better place when they actually just made it worse.
Meanwhile we prepare in case they need another hit of social justice to get it up, and ban us outright. Should they not go that far we just continue on business as usual with our contingencies in place.
And treat it as the publicity it is.: We are so good that nobody wants you to know about us.
BluepillProfessor 6y ago
I have not seen single article in the Mainstream Media about the Red Pill Quarantine.
Ether_Freeth 6y ago
But we do get talked about. The swell in numbers of subscribers recently provides that.
And there have been numerous mentions of the redpill in mainstream media over the last year both positive (albeit rarely ) and negative.
It is however true that the quarantine has not been mentioned specifically in mainstream media. However does it need to be? The result still is that we appeal to more and more people, make sense to more and more people. And a warning sign at the entrance can as much invite people in as keep them out. Maybe even more so the former.
I have no idea how many people came here just to take a look at those awful redpillers just to stay because it all suddenly made sense or a variation thereof. But I would be willing to wager there were more than just a few.

The Reddit Administration's thought process is pretty simple: The number of users who don't like The Red Pill along with the number of users who just plain don't care how Reddit is run or what the policies are or how they are enforced is much, much larger than the number of users who like The Red Pill or the number of users who care for ideological reasons how the website is run and how policies are enforced.
If every single Red Pill supporter stopped using the website, as well as every single person who has an ideological problem with how the site is run and how policies are enforced, and every single one of us posted mean things about Reddit on the internet, this would not affect Reddit. Lots and lots of people would continue to use Reddit. No advertisers would pull their ads or their money. Reddit's potential value as a business would not be affected.
It just wouldn't matter. If every single one of us, as well as every single person with an ideological grudge against internet censorship or badly run websites with arbitrary policies, were to vanish tomorrow, Reddit would be just fine. Reddit does not stand to lose money, business, value, or enough users to matter.
They're not answering because they don't have to. They're giving only short, content-poor messages in response to multiple long-winded messages and posts from TRP's end because they are the men in this relationship. Reddit is the one holding frame and sending one text for every 2-4 of TRP's, for logistics only, and letting TRP bluster emotionally about shit that doesn't matter.
redpillschool Admin 6y ago
Not answering a small group of 300,000 subscribers, like it or hate it, still undermines their authority on the matter for onlookers. Every straw counts on the camel's back.
I love when people try to misapply red pill theory to politics. Try thinking outside the box a little bit.
CainPrice 6y ago
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the real master plan isn't about the quarantine or the appeal at all. It's to be big and public and get a lot of attention and spread awareness, maybe drive some new users and traffic to trp.red in the process. Knowing that the TRP subreddit is either going to be eventually banned or die a slow asphyxiating death under quarantine due to its invisibility. Generally, garner as much attention as possible before the future migration, whether forced by a banning or voluntary.

One of the cool things about TRP's moderation team is that they don't need white knights rushing to their defense.
Unlike blue pillers, they listen to well reasoned positions with which they disagree, and comment appropriately.
Frankly, I think the big guy's slip is showing and he's looking like a fool with all of these blowhard essays about the Reddit administration being arbitrary, vague, and biased. Nobody cares. He's posting these long-winded essays about TRP's quarantine on the internet and imagining that lots of people are following and care about this issue just because he's cross-posting this to a few other subreddits. It's just not that big of a deal to anybody. The masses are not incensed and ready to revolt. Nobody is actually concerned with the Reddit leadership's ability to run the place. This will not affect advertisers, an IPO, or stock prices. Reddit's revenues will be just as high if they completely ignore The Red Pill.
But hey, maybe he's right and that this small issue will be one more straw, that in combination with the other things that have happened in the past and many other things that will happen in the future, will paint a larger picture that makes a significant number of people think. Who knows.
In the mean time, keeping this issue at the forefront of The Red Pill community will probably drive traffic to trp.red, get some people to donate money, and shit like that. Might as well capitalize on the issue among the few people who care while the iron is hot.

One of the cool things about having been here for five years is that it becomes pretty easy to ignore long winded mental masturbation posts from people who have only been here for a few days who don’t seem to grasp the basic tenets of The Red Pill and yet are somehow mighty free with insults like “white knight”.
I really hope TRP.RED has a block feature. That’s my favorite part of Reddit right now. Later, tater.

Your statement is logically wrong on 2 distinct counts:
Arbitrary, vague, and biased are EXACTLY what we need to show a court if a suit is filed. I think RPS knows what he is doing and you don't know a damn thing.
We could Red Pill the entire country instead of this little corner of the quarantined internet.

I don't think there's a legal cause of action for a social media company censoring text they arbitrarily find offensive.

You’re thinking under the assumption that the admins are incompetent rather than just not giving a damn.

Liberalism 101. Do things that give you the warm fuzzies and lack the backbone to stand up for your actions.

That's leftism, not liberalism. Liberalism is about liberty, i.e. letting people do what they want as long as they aren't infringing upon other people's rights. It comes from the French word liberte and the Latin word libertas meaning free.
The liberal mantra is "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." This is the exact opposite of the left. Back in the 1940s the speech of the left was being oppressed, so the left sided with liberals. Today the right sides with liberals for the exact same reason. I suspect the right will go back to oppressing speech as soon as they have control over speech again. Liberalism is a good philosophy. Live and let live.
