TL:DR Caffeine may be causing most of your anxiety problems and you don't even know it.

So you're doing the suggested things, you're lifting, eating clean, meditating, and readjusting your world view. You're doing everything right but you still feel socially anxious, low esteem, and low confidence. I'm here to tell you it may be caffeine holding you back.

Perpetual coffee drinking is a social norm, and caffeine intake is usually considered neither here nor there in regards to mental health. But there is a considerable amount of people who are hypersensitive to caffeine. Due to certain genes some people do not have enough of a certain enzyme to metabolize caffeine efficiently, leading to overdose symptoms from normally negligible amounts of caffeine. Also important to note that coffee contains other stimulants besides caffeine.

Stimulants heighten the fight or flight response in our nervous system. It causes dopamine and adrenal releases. This can be great if you physically use that energy, but otherwise it's putting strain on your nervous system for no good reason. This strain can cause increased levels of nervousness.

I personally notice this nervousness to drastically effect my ability to hold frame and remain stoic. It impairs the fluidity of my speech, and lessens my ability to control my thoughts with reason. It causes anxiety.

It doesn't seem many people make this connection. If you're doing well for yourself but still experiencing frequent anxiety and not fulfilling your social potential, I urge you to try quitting caffeine for a couple months to see how you feel.
