The important thing with FWB is that there are gaps and unrepdictablility. You want to be a bit elusive, unknown, mysterious. This means NOT EVERY DAY.

Girlfriend (I had an LTR in 2013, lasted roughly a year)
Texted her daily. Probably too much but it never hurt the sex. Helped that she was addicted to me. If I had a girlfriend less interested in me it probably would have hurt
Numerous arguments stemmed from text messaging, so I really wish I'd texted her less.
But had I had been TRP aware and actually had game and frame, probably could have texted her daily without any issues at all. Even so, wish I'd texted less regardless. Daily still would have been fine, just much less messages per day
Plate/FWB, non LTR
I just let them initiate most convos. I throw them a bone. I don't text very frequently even if they text me. Once every 2-4 hours maybe. Even less if I'm busy or annoyed
If they send something related to coming over I will respond quicker than normal because logistics
If it's a girl asking me out on a second date I make sure they wait hours so that they're anxious about seeing me again. If it's past 2nd date I text a bit more often but only really if they initiate
Text primarily for logistics, there is actually some value in sending memes or images of what you're doing from time to time. Sometimes I send pics of a good dish I cook or something interesting because I can't talk out a picture in person
Sometimes texting and emotionally stimulating photo can help but it's very nuanced
Just use your judgement but text mostly for logistics, adjust frequency based on level of connection to girl, balance push and pull quality and quantity of a text

The general rule with plates is texting is for logistics. For a girlfriend I'd say text as little as possible but enough to satisfy her needs. It's pretty common to check in with each other once/day.
