I'm (M 48) heading to Jamaica solo for a week. Just looking for some general advice on possible interactions.
I'll be meeting a lot of people, most will be couples or friend groups in for weddings, etc. Not many solo travelers at the resort or nearby bars. When asked what brought me here solo I'm wondering if I should be honest and say I just love the freedom of traveling alone or say something like my girlfriend had last minute assignment and couldn't make it (social proof? Idk)
Anyone else travel solo and have tips?

I like to pick up a Lonely Planet guide and read it on the airplane when I travel. Find the local backpacker area and start from there. Go see all the stuff you wanna see. If you want pussy ask the local cab drivers to take you to the red light district. Talk to the guesthouse workers as they probably already know what you want. Rent a scooter for better mobility. Stay away from the resorts. It will just be a bunch of fat, old white chicks looking for BBC.

I travel alone basically all the time, I'm quite open about just wanting to explore and have been my entire life. After 30 or so countries you're just seeing what's out there in the world, expanding your horizons and experiencing the life other people won't take the risk to experience. I have no clue why you would lie about just wanting to see the world and have an adventure, but I'm basically celibate at this point so I may not be the right person to pitch in to this conversation.
From my understanding of the literature around the red pill thinking its basically "do you, be the best version of yourself" so just go with that.
Outside of that if you haven't traveled solo much you are often a target for grifters. Don't follow anyone to any clubs no matter what "discounts" they offer you, don't go with a women to their friends "coffee shop", don't engage with street hustlers even to tell them off. If you're smart and vaguely cautious you'll have a great time, talk to people in small neighborhood restaurants and bars and like the other guy said get away from the resorts. You're an (I'm assuming) healthy man, if you're friendly, listen to people, and put forth a modicum of effort to understand their viewpoint on life you'll have a great time.
Edit: One more piece of advice, don't look scared. You're walking around a colony that your ancestors probably had a part in building, carry yourself like you have a right and reason to be there and people will treat you generally well and your chance of getting scammed will go way down. And for the love of god don't wear a fanny pack.
