Some girls come to gyms to get attention. Some come to gyms to work out. You can't be certain which type you have met.
It can be very annoying for serious girls to be hit on in gyms. There are just so many guys full of tren who all wonder if they might get to unload in her and she has come to work out. Sure if you don't approach her you can't get anywhere, so you did the right thing to try if you liked her.
I am just saying hot girls in gyms have a choice -get fucked by a lot of guys or say no to a lot of guys. Its easier to say no at first approach than later. There is not much to go on here but there is nothing to say she does not like you or would not like to be approached again tomorrow.
