Tldr; safety 1st
Body; Someone brutally killed on a motorcycle while not wearing a helmet is pretty much unanimously called a dumbass by society.
People question why they didn't go through basic measures of protection. Did they not realize the consequences?
Motorcycleaccident.com estimates helmets reduce the likelihood of a crash by 37%.
The likelihood of a divorce is greater.
When we see someone divorce raped, trp has a similar reaction. -What a dumbass. Why did he get married? Did he not realize the consequences?
The rest of society doesn't see it like that. They just picture a perfect summer day with their hair blowing in the wind. They like feeling the rush. They love the Disney fantasy.
Even some ppl here justify it saying - if you follow trp principles, have good dread game, pick a young nonwesternized, non slut you will be fine.
But there is no garentee. You cannot control the road ahead.
You could be the perfect cyclist and extremely safe, but when you die from a truck that couldn't see you and don't have a helmet ppl aren't sympathetic.
You could be the most trp alpha bad ass, but when your perfect untampered snowflake becomes influenced by modern media and divorces you, we won't have sympathy for you. She can blindside you at anytime and because you are married you risk your assets.
I have nothing against non helmet wearing bikers or ppl married. I'm just pointing out that our culture berates ppl in one category yet not another, despite the failure percentage of the 2 is similar.
Good for you if you like that kind of lifestyle.
But know there are risks everytime you drive (get in a relationship ) and those risks go up when you don't wear a helmet (get married).
Lessons learned:
Be aware of the risks f marriage

I hope they didn't actually say exactly that, because helmets have no effect on the likelihood of a crash. The outcome of the crash, yes.

They reduce the likelihood of crash fatality by 37%. My bad I had it wrong. Thanks for catching it

Take a bee to the face at 65mph and report back how the lack of helmet didn't matter in the crash.

Lol! Point granted. Stuff that hits you in the head randomly would be a bad thing without a helmet, but that was NEVER the safety factor being considered.

It probably said likelihood of a 'fatal crash' which was interpreted as 'crash' by our buddy, OP. Which should be true because head injuries are more likely to be the cause of death than internal organs getting grinded between two cars during an accident while going through the midline, which is also surprisingly likely to be a cause of death. There are also other things like getting thrown ten feet in the air just to listen to gravity and come back, crashing into cars turning left and becoming a human pancake or simply falling off.
Sure, motorbikes are sexy but also MUCH more likely to kill their riders.

People are conditioned to be selfish and think of short-term pleasure.
