Men would do good to realize that they do not need to invest in a woman, they need to invest in themselves, and the women will show up regardless if it is done properly. Women's tendency to latch on like a Remora is a feature, either make it work for you, or do not, and get results accordingly.
Just don't give them the keys to/allow them to put their name on anything you are not prepared to lose.
Because you can't fix/change them, nor should you expect to be able to.
