I'm late to the party on this one, but I want to add a few thoughts:
Relevant portion of rule 3:
A) it's annoying and detracts from the discussion.
B) it almost always comes from a belief that no woman can possibly be this awful of a person, because they're all magical creatures of pure goodness who fart rainbows and shit diamonds.
C) skepticism and doubt are good, but don't be that guy who has to verbalize his doubt at everything. that guy is fucking annoying.
D) "I have room for doubt" isn't proof that something is fake.

I didn't laugh in that this is a tragic situation. I feel bad for the girl and, quite frankly, don't think she's all that bad compared to regular college women who slut it up and then quietly become born-again virgins. The guy was offended because "anyone could sleep with her for money" as compared to her being a chad chaser.
On the contrary, "alpha widows" or women who slept around with nothing but "hot guys" probably have their pair-bonding abilities burned out more than escorts who slept with normal men.

Her husband is right. The only difference between a prostitute on the street and this "escort" was the price. In fact, a prostitute who accepts who she is and what it means is above her in station. A prostitute who is open about who she is and is accepting of the consequences of her life has my respect. I am pretty sure she might get respect from the husband in this story as well. This lying whore does not. She is utterly immoral without taking any ownership for it and all I can think of at the end of this story was how she still got the money. If there is a lesson, it is that. The man has my sympathy. This lying whore will only have my contempt.

I don't want to be argumentative so I'll try to explain the nuance of what I'm saying with this question: Is a slut better because she's giving it away for "free" rather than money? TRP is about accepting difficult truths which is that nearly all women are now prostitutes. Golddiggers are prostitutes. Even chad-chasers are whoring for social status by sleeping with desirable men (my ex had a schoolteacher who bragged about sleeping with JFK).
The great lie of feminism was that if women were "equal" and "earned their own way", they'd stop being whores because then they could pay their own bills. Heck, consider how career women engage in hypergamy and refuse to get into a relationship where they're not prostituting themselves "refuse to marry down" meaning that they have plenty of money, but they insist on MORE. Having an argument is fine, provided it is conducted in a mutually respectful manner.
A slut who is open about being a slut is better than her: a lying whore. That does not make a slut worthy of a marriage. It is not a question of chastity here; it is about morality. Her personal moral scale and whether she is true to it. On the scale of chastity and femininity, neither a slut nor a whore will measure up to a virgin. In reality (and in trp theory), a lot of men are ok with low n count women but are not ok with high n count women because of a measure of chastity and morality. AWALT does not mean AWALT all the time. It is not to be taken literally. AWALT is a motto to remind you to stay vigilant and to not put anyone on a pedestal. A former whore who owns up to what she did and is willing to be one for her boyfriend is acceptable to a lot of men. She might not be acceptable to you and me, but that is besides the point.
The marketing words of feminism does not mask the true nature of the women who pushed for it and cling to it. I have wrote a post before about traditional women. While they are better than feminists, they are not to be put on a pedestal either. AWALT.

I appreciate your point and don't condone her dishonesty but note that sluts also are rarely honest about their past. Heck, that's why the first thing sluts do when they're in dual-mating mode to settle down is act all traditional and "play hard to get" to signal to a beta male that she's virtuous because she's not giving up to him cheaply.

We all have different ways we process emotions. For example: If I found out my wife was cheating on me, I'd be enraged but if I found out she did this kind of work before meeting me, I'd probably not be as upset since we weren't in a relationship at the time. IMO, nearly all women are whores in one regard or another including the demands us men be breadwinners while it's optional for them.
It is, as I think the angry husband said, we know what they are but we're just haggling over price.

I get your point; I too don't think there's a major difference between an escort and your average party slut. However, what makes her evil is not the sex work per se, but covering up her tracks to a point the guy got married and had a kid. At any point she could have come foward with an edited version of her past (let's be honest here, no way in hell would she willingly admit to being a whore because she was too lazy to find real work or too entitled to join the army) - she had a "phase", she "hung around with a bad crowd and did things she's not proud of", she had "people" helping her pay her tuition, she had "many abusive exes". She knew she would be dumped for her past, and so decided to fabricate one instead.
As for the differences between the whore and the slut - besides the payment upfront -, I think there are three main ones, though it could be argued that this is no more than splitting hairs. The first one is the stigma - and while society is too lenient on sluts, they're still somewhat more accepted than a bona fide streetwalker. Even a human mattress looks down to pros. The second one is that a slut has poor moral compass; a hooker either has none or is willing to ignore hers for sufficient money. And the third - and most dangerous - one is the compartmentalisation. The tramp may eventually try to erase her easy past but, in doing so, she'll have to erase too much - thus creating a whole block of missing information, a big telltale sign for those looking for red flags. The lady of the night, on the other hand, will have an easier time pretending that her career never happened, unless the guy really digs into her past or gets lucky like the one in the story.

Sometimes I really wish the things we find are nothing more than a writing exercise - but time and time again reality imposes itself.
A woman who grew with two loving parents and could have worked her way through university, could have borrowed money from banks, could have joined the military, decided that work was too much work, and whoring was a far easier option. And, deciding to not face the consequences of her own actions, lied her way into marriage. Now there's a guy facing the worst pain one can imagine, and a girl who'll grow up in a broken home (and possibly follow her mom's footsteps). But hey, at least she didn't have to get a real job.

Yeah this is where I lost any sympathy. She wasn't some runaway child trafficked into prostitution against her will. She wasn't a homeless mother forced to street walk to feed her children. She was a college student. You can get loans for 100% of your tuition plus living expenses if you want. Yes, that leaves you with a big burden after graduation but you can still do it.
Even work wise, when she mentioned she met a friend at an expensive bar, I thought that was the job she was going to get. If you're attractive enough to escort, you can make bank as a bartender or waitress say expensive bars, restaurants, or even night clubs. Heck if none of those work, drop out for a year, work full time, and come back. There's no shame in it and employers might even give you points for being so determined to finish your degree.
She chose prostitution. The admission of drugs and alcohol use is the key. She was already in the NYC party life (the real reason she wanted to go to an NYC college rather than something cheaper in her home state), and dropping out to work would mean most likely going back home. She wanted a way to stay in New York to continue her Sex and the City lifestyle, and didn't want a real job that comes with responsibilities like showing up on time. If you could escort a couple times in a week and pay your tuition, why not? To a woman who doesn't value her body, her chastity, or her virtue, it's a good trade-off.
The further tell is that she continued to escort. If she really could earn a semester's tuition in a week, then she could have escorted for 6 weeks and have enough for the rest of college. But she continued to escort throughout her college years. Why? To fund her lifestyle of drugs, alcohol, and Manolo heels which was the real reason for her needing so much money.
College was just an excuse. What she really wanted was the NYC hedonistic life and she was willing to prostitute herself to obtain it. Her husband is correct in figuring this out and tossing her to the curb.
The only thing I would do differently is I'd probably fight for custody of the child. Assuming it's his biological child, I personally would find it difficult to cut ties with her. But I agree with a quick divorce, without some "trial separation" or therapy or other nonsense.

Upon re-reading a bit more closely, its written in a ramblematic style so I don't blame you for missing it - but a man came up to their table as she left for the restroom. But I do agree that any dude would 'read' the situation and not say shit, even there.
