I'm reminded of a funny line in "Boogy Nights" where a girl OD's on some H at a party and the guy cries "This is the 3rd time a chick has OD'd on me!" and the party host says "Don't you think you ought to ask yourself if this junk you have is bad?" This is happening to a "lot of women" but there's zero introspection on their part.
This line "Men are insecure so it's not our problem" speaks volumes. For starters, it shows they have an utter lack of empathy (or anti-empathy) towards men. Human beings have insecurities and vulnerabilities hence partly why we want to have relationships. Why have a relationship if you truly are "independent" and "secure?" In the mindset of "independent, strong women", they think they'll form a "power couple" to conquer the world (and to impress all of her "friends", of course). To them, it's a business partnership contingent, of course, on HER goals but dissolved the second it doesn't suit her. Their emotional and physical intimacy is 100% transactional.
It doesn't occur to them that the objects they refer to as "men" have their own interests and agenda and perhaps that's a good thing because this undermines their ability to manipulate us.

You missed a key implication in the "mid 30's" number: When women talk about age they tend to average it. If this friend was ONE DAY below 35, she'd absolutely be referred to as "early 30's" or even "just turned 30". "Mid 30's" could apply to a woman up to one day short of 38.
This woman is aging in dog years and yet also trying to lose weight after several decades of failure when getting weight off is the most difficult. Even if she succeed after monumental effort in 2 years, she'll be in her "late 30's" competing with women younger than her who also want to "start a family".
But men are just too "insecure" to enjoy that "challenge" and to "make an effort".

Note also that while she has allegedly been trying (and failing) to lose weight, she also has baby rabies. A few things:
1) A woman has to be really fat if even her bestie - who is advocating for her - is willing to admit that she’s fat.
2) If she didn’t have the self control to manage her weight when she was young and childless, how in the world is she going to develop that self control when she’s older and has the excuse of pregnancy weight and the distractions of having a small child to care for?
3) How is she going to maintain her $110,000+ income, and the huge amount of property when she’s knocked up and has kids?
3a) Her current salary is worse than useless because she’s accustomed to living far better than she will be when her wages drop to zero.
3b) That land will have to be maintained, which means that either her husband will have to do that while she sits on her ever-expanding ass feeding Hot Pockets to the kids, or they’ll have to hire someone to do it, which is another expense that will have to come out of his earnings.
Look at it from the man’s perspective. (Yeah… I heard it, too.). A guy who has his act together well enough to trigger the hypergamy of a woman who owns a lot of land, has a six figure income, and thinks she’s pretty is going to have a LOT of options. If he chooses her, he gets a woman who wants kids, but is already at the point where every pregnancy will be high risk because of her age and weight. He gets a woman who’s used to spending six figures on herself, and switching her to a lifestyle where at least three people have to live on one income and perform / arrange maintenance on her huge tracts of land. He gets a woman who WILL BE OBESE HER ENTIRE LIFE.
Yeah… that’s a hard pass.

Another aspect of "land in the middle of nowhere" is that this probably doesn't help her dating life much. She may work remote or perhaps has a long commute but either way, that cuts back on her ability to socialize as her biological clock strikes midnight.
What's funny about this one is I stumbled onto it in my feed and chuckled and screenshot it but then scrolled down the comments and found the gold that after she had declared men "broken", she admits that her bestie was fat. They, and their friends, default blame men as "broken" and "insecure" even as there are obvious reasons for why they're single.
Imagine if some poor guy was to commit to this woman and then she engaged in further bad behavior such as eating the hot pockets and such and she simply blamed him, or told him to "man up" in the relationship. If she's this much in denial now AND supported by her friends in it, what kind of marriage would that be for him?

This is important, if she’s obsessed with looks, she could “pay” a good looking (but otherwise unimpressive) guy to be with her, by paying all the bills AND being the house wife. I know a few women who do this, likely because they want attractive kids. This arrangement immediately falls apart when said woman (seeing how her attractive friends nag their husbands) decides she can do the same. Bro then simply leaves.

Every fucking time a man is underneath a woman in any setting, she treats him with contempt. I think, especially in relationships, that this is because she subconsciously resents him for not being stronger than her (and if he isn't stronger than her, he's definitely not strong enough to handle other men.)

Yup. Safer bet for a man is to hold out for a skinnier woman that prefers him over her other options. Since then he at least knows he's not a desperation pick in that aspect.
Same methodology applies to her age, and motherhood status. (main difference there is a woman can't get younger, and generally can't become childless). Educational attainment and increased income is a common situation where a woman can suddenly renege on commitment due to perceived ability to upgrade though. So men are rightfully wary of investing in a woman in those situations.

Yes they are. A guy under 6' can do everything a guy over 6' can (other than comfort a woman's insecurities about her own height), so there is insecurity from the woman's side involved. An obese woman is an emergency hospital visit waiting to happen, so a man having a preference for regular BMI women is simply practising common sense.
I wonder how many obese people have a blood test every 2 years to check their LDL and HDL. Because you can't be obese and healthy. I am saying this because the euphemism "living in large bodies" has started floating around the interwebs (chosen by obese people to euphemistically describe themselves), as if their bodies are the penthouse of bodies and not in an unhealthy condition.

Of course she does. All women do, because that is how they become successful. No matter how much women try to deny it, they know this deep down, biologically. This is why older women without a husband and children are so bitter and jealous.

The best a woman can make is zero. A woman making $0 is totally dependent on her father or husband and knows it. Keeps her humble and keeps her in line. She is home taking care of the house and children: cleaning, homeschooling, and cooking.
