It's not like there was anything she could have done differently - like having chosen an average man whose family would like her, or at least not staying too long in such a relationship. This is absolutely correct, as there is only so many years for a woman to optimally have children. Women who want children need to do a lot of groundwork to do it right, including finding a husband early on so that pregnancy can be achieved much more easily.

I don't know which parts of "society" she is listening to, but anyone in their right mind should understand that you do not need all of these things as a woman if you want to be a wife and mother. You just need the right guy and kids. The "career" is not something you should do because of "society" telling you to do it. Especially if those people are other bitter career women who are burnt out by trying to "have it all."

Oh this again? Did you hear how those same women who got pregnant in their 50s also had a bunch of children before their pregnancy at 50? Because that is almost always how that happens. You being a woman in her 40s would have less of a chance replicating that outcome because your fertility window is closing/closed while the women who had previous children had their window pushed back. So anytime a woman repeats this line, always ask how many children these women had before.

This woman seems to have accepted that having children is not in her future. And that would be best, since thinking otherwise is delusional. And given how men get less out of relationships with women these days, the one thing that might help her entice a man to enter a relationship with her (bearing his children) is no longer a realistic option. Women were created to be wives (helpers of men) and mothers (raise his children). If you fail at those two things, you are NOT a successful woman. Womanhood is defined by your ability to do those two things. Always has been. To men, you are worthless for anything but sex, but even that will soon end.
