Removes a lot of the fiscal incentives for stupidity that way.

Same issues they had before the baby? Who would have guessed? Anyone with a quarter of a brain knows a baby won't eliminate a couple's problems, likely add to them instead.
Coping activities? How about getting a job? Nah, her ex will get an additional one to help support her, baby trapping will have her set up for decades to come. Abortion or putting up for adoption weren't option$.

I've been pursued by a single mom, (she outed herself, I didn't even have to ask) and I don't want anything to do with her. I'll be civil, like "hi" and that is it. I think the desperation is mounting out there, guys. I get approached from time to time, but I've noticed an uptick in women wanting a handout in one form or another.
Another girl sat next to me, made some small talk, then outright asked me to buy her a drink. I laughed, an immediate reaction to the absurdity, and she got offended and left. Problem solved, lol. I could tell that her low-effort pitch wasn't a prelude to knowing me better, just to extract a quick hit and be gone.
Its crazy out there, guys.

A colleague got into a fight due to a similar situation: Some longshoremen were asking him to share some of the booze he had nicked from the office party and one of the girls said "If you give it to us I'll talk to you" and so he reneged and a hilarious fight story ensued.
Buying women drinks used to be something men did as an opener in lieu of a clever line or game gambit. Sort of a mini-date. But going up to someone and asking them to pay to talk to them comes across as not only "desperate" as you would say, but arrogant. As women love to say (when it suits them) "Asker pays".

I'd say it's both. After all, women demanding men pay for their time is a form of quid-pro-quo prostitution which always annoyed me but I learned to accept it after my sister told me: "You'll never date a pretty woman then" and she was right, I had to admit. Bottom line is that unless I was conventionally handsome, I was going to get the bottom-of-the-barrel in women. But once I accepted I had to "pay to play", I was ok with it but with this condition: I never asked out or paid for the time of a plain looking woman again.
There was a twitter thread by a woman griping that many husbands were "lousy in bed" and I, and a few other men responded: "If you want men who give you orgasms, you can't expect them to be your providers".
If you think about it, that's what so many modern women are pissed about: They believe they should be entitled to "chemistry" and all that nonsense but that's a LUXURY for people who PAY for it. It's ironic that female hypergamy no longer works because of feminism having undermined men in the workplace and the conventionally attractive men no longer need to commit.
